Performing Arts

Performing arts is an art form where the artists express themselves in front of audience through their physical abilities like body movements, facial expressions, vocals and gestures. Performing arts is divided into three art forms namely, music, dance and drama. Music consists of knowing the theories of music, notes, principles of singing and composing music. Dance, on the other hand is the rhythmic movement of body in sync with the background sound and music. Drama comprises of the depiction of a story through the amalgamation of dance and music along with use of gestures, language, speech and facial expressions. Apart from the basic academic requirement, a person should be interested in the particular art form along with enough talent and skills to pursue it as a career. India is the largest producer of films all over the world and our culture has always cherished different art forms, which continues till date. There are many institutes and universities that provides education in performance at certificate level, diploma level, bachelor's and master's level. Minimum requirement for certificate courses is Xth board certificate; while for diploma and bachelor's level it is 10+2 board certificate. If one wants to study at the master's level, bachelor's degree in relevant subjects is mandatory. Performing art has a lot of scope in todays time and age. One can be placed in theatre groups, entertainment companies, television, as well as the film industry or work independently as freelancers.

Acting/Dramatics

Actors imbibe the characters they play, and become the face of the production. They are the ones who bring the vision of the director to life, and stun the audience with their performance. Be it the theatre, films, or television, actors over the due course of time, become a brand themselves.

Choreographer

A choreographer's work is to create and organize dance sequences in cinema, music videos, stage shows, TV shows, drama, theatre, as well as in private gatherings. They are professionals in dance who create not only dances, but themes too.

Modelling

Modeling is one of the most glamourous professions in the world. With so many products being launched everyday, it has become indespensible part of companies to promote their products and hence use models to promotion. Fashion models work in various fields, including photographic modeling, television commercials, live or runway modeling, and product modeling. Music

Musicians create music. They compose, conduct, sing, perform music in different styles. They are skilled artists who dedicate their life to music and its composition by playing a variety of instruments. They may work on thier own, as freelancers or in collaboration with others. Competition in the field of music is high and musicians need to dedicate hours of practice to maintain and develop their skill, whatever their preferred style.

Stage Lighting

The Stage Lighting Tech operates the lights board, which controls the lighting and graphics onstage. He or she is also in charge of rigging lights, hanging lights, unloading and relocating lighting equipment, and ensuring that everything is in working order. Tour managers, production managers, booking agents, road crew, artists, lighting directors, and club DJs all work with lighting techs. Lighting technicians may accompany a performer on tour or work in-house at a venue. Lighting technicians have a diverse educational background. Many technicians have studied theatrical production design, audio engineering, audio/visual technology, or lighting technology. Every educational background contributes to the team's success. Many Lighting Techs freelance, especially at the start of their careers, they spend a significant portion of their time looking for work–at least until they make a reputation for themselves in the industry.
